WINTER OPENING

For the first time in its modern history Carew Castle was open to the public over the winter of 2007/08 .  This was a trial period, which we repeated in 2008-9 and again this year as it proved successful. Our aim is to make the site accessible to as many people as possible, visitors and local alike.  

The Castle will be open to the public between 11 am - 3 pm daily (last entry 2.30pm).  The Tidal Mill will be closed all winter reopening March 29th 2010. 

Entry charges will be reduced to £2.75 per person(no concessions)subject to vat increase on 1/1/10.  There is also a family ticket available at £8.25 again subject to vat increase.  

During this time no guided tours will be conducted except for group bookings by prior arrangement.  However, guided trail leaflets will be available for use while visiting the site.

Please note:  In icy or snowy conditions the site will not be opened to the public for Health and Safety reasons.
