WINTER OPENING

For the first time in its modern history Carew Castle was open to the public over the winter of 2007/08 .  This was a trial period, which we hope to repeat in 2008-9 as it proved successful. Our aim is to make the site accessible to as many people as possible, visitors and local alike.  

The Castle is expected to be open to the public between 11 am - 3 pm daily (last entry 2.30pm).  The Tidal Mill will be closed all winter reopening Easter 2009. 

Entry charges will be reduced (no concessions). 

During this time no guided tours will be conducted except for group bookings by prior arrangement.  However, guided trail leaflets will be available for use while visiting the site.
